London will honor the halcyon Italian fashion years with the first ever such exhibition to go on view at the Victoria & Albert Museum April 5 through July 2014, called "The Glamour of Italian Fashion 1945-2014."

    On Sunday, September 22, 2013, Minister of Foreign Affairs Emma Bonino, who was in New York to participate at the United Nations General Assembly ministerial week, met the Italian community at the Italian Consulate General in New York. During this event, Minister Bonino touched upon several arguments: the fight against terrorists, the plan of making new investments in Italy, and also about the decision of closing the Consulate in Newark, illustrating to the Italian community the programs and goals of her Ministry.

    One hundred thousand people converged in St. Peter's Square Saturday evening in response to Pope Francis's appeal to believers, including Muslims, and non-believers as well, to join together in a day of fasting and prayers for peace in Syria as well as in Lebanon, Irak, Palestine, Israel and Egypt. The Pontiff's message was clear and emphatic: "Let the cry for peace rise up across the earth," he declared. This was Pope Francis's first important entry into the sphere of international diplomacy. The massive participation also demonstrated, as do the crowds flocking to the Wednesday papal audiences, the Pontiff's extraordinary popularity and influence.
