  • Solo andata - Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino
    Set to text by Neapolitan author Erri de Luca, and directed by actor and director Alessandro Gassmann, "Solo Andata" (One Way Ticket) is the latest video, for the song by the same title, by Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, Italy's leading band on the world music scene. The video addresses the ongoing issue of immigrants arriving from North Africa to Italy's shores.
  • The Rimon Project, at Milan Expo 2015, showcases Jewish jewels like Viadana in Sabbioneta, Mantua and Piadena, while a special smartphone application guides the visitor through the Expo events and many Jewish sites in Milan and Lombardy: kosher restaurants and food shops, bookstores, shopping places and Italian Judaica.

As the ranks of those who were there begin to thin, the recollections of those who were there grow in importance. Here is one woman’s story of arresting an enemy soldier when she was just 15 years old – and its aftermath.
  • With the Expo Milano 2015 kick off date only a week away, many Italians are concerned that Milan will not be ready to host the 20 million people that are getting ready to file into the city for sixth months, the length of the world’s fair. The New York Times is not the only newspaper to recently release an article concerning the many controversies that have permeated the atmosphere of the Expo and Italy’s international image.
  • Three Italian films were nominated for the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival, an annual international film festival held in Cannes, France. It will run from May 13th to May 24th this year. The directors are Giovanni "Nanni" Moretti, Paolo Sorrentino, and Matteo Garrone.
  • The Kickoff celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) took place at Cipriani’s in New York. This year a new award was given out: the Mario Cuomo Award in community leadership and public service, received by Attorney General Janet Di Fiore. Present at the Gala were also various prominent Italian American figures, such as the current Governor Andrew Cuomo, NIAF president John Viola, actors Chazz Palminteri and Ralph Macchio, news anchor Ken Rosato, chairman of NIAF Joseph Raso, and many others. All had great input on many topics regarding Italian American culture, integration, discourse, as well as the connection with Italy, especially in view of Expo Milano.
  • The prize itself will be awarded at the Palazzo Ducale in the City of Urbino in June.
