  • 100per100 Italian Pizza: ex aequo for Ribalta and Sorbillo
    On June 30, the Gala organized by the cultural association I Love Italian Food, hosted by Scavolini Soho Gallery, was dedicated to all those realities which distinguished themselves for promoting only authentic Italian cuisine in New York. The special guests were awarded according to six main categories: Espresso, Gelato, Menu, Pizza, Chef and Restaurant.
  • Italian Pavilion opening ceremony
    From June 30 to July 2, the most important food and drink trade fair in North America took place in New York for its 64th edition. The Italian Pavilion was the undisputed ruler of the event with more than 300 companies. Even its inauguration occurred with the presence a very special guest: Maria Elisabetta Alberti Casellati, President of the Italian Senate.

    Le Strade della Mozzarella came back in New York City with its third successful edition, gathering food lovers, entrepreneurs and a selection of the best Neapolitan and Italian American pizza makers in the world. A particular attention went to all Made in Italy products and quality ingredients of the Mediterranean diet, such as Mozzarella di Bufala Campana DOP, San Marzano Tomatoes and Extravirgin Olive Oil.

    On June 21, the first Italian-American Cultural Community Center built in New York City was inaugurated in Bensonhurst in the presence of political personalities representing the New York Italian American Community. The new facility will soon represent a reference point for both the promotion of the Italian cultural heritage and a multi-cultural society. Chairman of the Board G. Jack Spatola took the floor reminding the importance of the Italian Dual Language Program which is spreading in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Francesco Genuardi, Consul General of Italy, recognized the importance of Il Centro as an important landmark for the promotion of Italian language too.
