The outdoor stands, which will feature Sicilian specialty foods, are run by those businesses that have refused to pay a notorious illegal tax, the "pizzo". The organizers eventually hope to bring the gastronomic fair overseas.

    Illy and Coca-Cola are collaborating to bring the premium gourmet coffee brew in "chilled" can form. The black espresso and milk varieties will be released into European markets next month, and around the world-- including the U.S. and Asia-- in early 2009. Starbucks best watch its back.

A capacious auditorium at the CUNY Graduate Center is where interested parties of Italians and Italian-Americans gathered for the Italian American Digital Project’s official launching on Monday. The event served to inaugurate IADP, the not-for-profit organization that will head i-Italy.org, and to recognize the students of the Empowerment for Italy-U.S. Community (EUSIC) project who helped get i-Italy off the ground and make it what it is today: both a community space and a website for journalistic content
