Stony Brook University’s 12th annual Concorso d’Eleganza was a success! Approximately 80 Italian cars rallied at the University located in the suburbs of New York City in order to show their cars and to attest to the “elegance” of Italian design. The event is hosted by the University’s Center for Italian Studies, which looks to promote the Italian language and culture both within and outside of the University.

The renowned journal of Italian literature, language, and culture, founded by Michael Ricciardelli fifty years ago, will be presented at the Italian Parliament, Chamber of Deputies this spring.

Stony Brook University’s Center for Italian studies, directed by professor Mario Mignone, organized a conference to remember Justice Antonin G. Scalia, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States (1986-2016). Presenters discussed both their experiences with the Supreme Court Justice and the influences he has had on the Italian-American community and the American Judicial System.

Natalia Quintavalle delivered her lecture, entitled “Impact of the Economic Crisis on the Euro and the EU: The Role of Italy,” to a packed house of about 200 students, faculty, and other invited guests.
