    On February 9 the Accademia Italiana della Cucina celebrated the 50th Anniversary of its New York Delegation. President Giovanni Ballarini and Delegate Francesca Baldeschi Balleani honored ten fellow Italians and those businesses who throughout the years have been outstanding in spreading and promoting Italian cuisine in NY. The Italian Trade Commission, directed by Mr. Aniello Musella, in collaboration with the Italian Government Tourism Board/North America, directed by Mr. Riccardo Strano sponsored the sumptuous dinner, held at the Metropolitan Club.

  • Francesco Maria Talò - Montclair University (NJ)
    On December 2nd the Consul General Francesco Maria Talò gave the lecture "From Pizza to PhD, from Dante to DNA: updating the image of Italy" before a large audience of students at Montclair University (NJ). He catalogued the main Italian accomplishments of both the past and the present in alphabetical order, and talked about them with the support of a slide show presentation.   • On October 22 the Italian Minister of Agriculture Luca Zaia held a meeting at Del Posto Restaurant in Manhattan to present Italian DOC, IGP, and DOP products.
